The National Chairman, Sen. (Dr.) Amadu Ali has asked members of the South East zone of PDP to narrow down the contending members for the position of the National Chairmanship of the party to the bearest minimum in order not to cause unnecessary friction in the system.

He gave the advice when a delegation of the Imo state Executive committee led by the State Chairman Chief Marcelenus Nlemigbo called to thank him for lifting their suspension from the party. Noting also that the caretaker committee ceases to exist with the lifting of the suspension.

The National Chairman adviced that they should learn how to share the available positions assigned to the zone in a way that would bring peace and not rancour. Noting that it is better to confined their campaigns to the South East for the National Chairmanship position than other zones since they are directly responsible for electing their candidate.

Sen. (Dr.) Amadu Ali hinted that all aggrieved members of the PDP should present their case before the Dr. Alex Ekweme led reconciliatory Committee for a fair hearing and onward reabsorbtion to the party.

He also informed that the National Convention will take place within the shortest possible time and asked the executives to go back to their state and prepare for the wards and state congresses.

In his remarks, the National Vice Chairman South East Nze Chukwu Fidelis Chukwu spoke on the need for the Imo State Executives to show same gesture of the National Chairman to the Local Government and ward levels by re-calling all suspended members back to the PDP fold.

In a related event, Sen. (Dr.) Amadu ali thanked the Abia State PDP Executives for producing two Senators out of the three under the very critical situation they found themselves. Noting that in any polity, it is better to jaw-jaw than to war-war.
